Teniqua Treetops is a family run resort and we particularly welcome families with children. Escape from the city and experience the wilds of Africa.


Kids love it! The excitement of sleeping on a platform in a tree, where the sounds of the forest abound, hiking down to the river and rock-hopping, swimming in cola coloured water, nature spotting.... all great things for kids (and for their parents!)


Our entertainment areas are particularly family friendly and include a huge jungle gym with integral swing, trampoline, and 2 swimming pools, a safe, shallow 'baby' pool and a deep pool with inflatables, balancing beam etc. The 'baby pool has just been converted to a jacuzzi, so it has a shallow seat all the way round for a small child, and is very popular with the parents. It is currently solar heated.

For the odd day when outside activities may not be possible,
we have a large entertainment/games room with table tennis, darts, books, computer games, exercise equipment etc.


Alongside the games room is a communal braai area for guests with covered seating and serving areas, tables and benches for lunches or evening entertaining. All of these are in close proximity to the pools and the kids play areas, so mums and dads can chill out too...


Especially for families, we have two tree houses that sleep 4 in one bedroom, they are called The Eyrie and Tranquility. These are most suitable for kids under 12. They have a queen and a bunk bed in the bedroom, separate lounge, kitchen, bathroom and deck area. They both have toddler friendly railings

Where more privacy is required, we have two 2-bedroom
4-sleeper treehouses called Philosopher’s Perch and Forest Elders. However there are gaps in the railings as it improves the view and openness of the tree houses, but descreases safety.
